Zen Stone Lighting & Furnishings lampshades are created using finest quality colorfast papers and acid free glue. The lamp shades papers, made from silk, banana,kozo, mulberry, mango and abaca fibers are imported from Nepal, Thailand, Japan and the Philippines. Each modern paper lamp shade has many layers of very thin, colored paper combined using a special copyrighted process to create beautiful lighting. These lamps are artistic expressions, both lit and unlit.

Truly unique in contemporary lighting, each stone lamp base is hand crafted from natural river stones cut at the base to provide stability and drilled for the wire pass through and assembly of the stem. Twig lamp and Stone lamp bases are made of natural stones that have an ecologically harvested bundle of salt cedar rising out of the center. The salt cedar comes from the Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge along the Rio Grande in central New Mexico. Salt Cedar is an aggressive invader that is cut once a year to maintain the open wetlands for the many water fowl that winter there.
